Firm helps army meet demands of modern warÂ
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY firm McAndrew Martin is setting its sights on more specialist projects after completing firing ranges at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
The Portsmouth-based Acorn Business Centre company designed the shooting points to help the army better meet the demands of modern warfare with enhanced training for close quarters combat.
McAndrew Martin's structural engineering, architecture and building services engineering divisions were drafted in for the project at the prestigious officer training school.
The firm provided its expertise through infrastructure giant Amey.
Noor Awan, McAndrew Martin's head of structural engineering, said: '˜Our considerable experience in MOD work over many years was a major factor in securing this contract.
'˜The work included architectural design, structural engineering and building services support for two new firing ranges. As a multi-disciplinary firm we were able to provide a package of bespoke expertise from three of our six divisions to meet the demands of the project.'
