Fratton McDonald's the first to be transformed in the area

McDonald's in Fratton Way has undergone a transformation, with other restaurants in the area following suit later this year.

Portsmouth franchisee Grant Copper has personally invested money for the improvements to take place.

Many of the new features from the Fratton restaurant will begin to appear in other McDonald’s restaurants across the area, including Cosham, later this month, and Havant, in August.

This will be Grant Copper’s biggest personal investment in Portsmouth to date.

Mr Copper started his career over 30 years ago and now runs 17 restaurants across Portsmouth, West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including the one in Fratton.

His restaurants contribute almost £19.3 million to the local economy and he employs nearly 1,400 local people.

He said: ‘Staying ahead of customer expectations is vital, and the new technology we’ve introduced in this restaurant recognises the way people live their lives today.’

He has put digital innovation at the heart of the transformation.
