Gosport business to sponsor employment fair in town

Huhtamaki is the headline sponsor of the Gosport Business and Employment Fair.

The exhibition brings in a range of firms from defence and health to companies offering apprenticeships.

Dez Timmiss, Huhtamaki general manager, said: ‘We currently employ around 370 employees, plus contract temporary workers. However, we will see a major expansion of our Gosport site that will secure its long-term future, benefiting both employees and the community.

‘We were keen to not only be an exhibitor but also the headline sponsor of the event.’

Chairman of Gosport council’s economic development board, Cllr Stephen Philpott added: ‘The fair helps people find jobs, gain new skills, or start a business. It also gives employers the chance to recruit staff and to promote career opportunities.’

The event is on Thursday, from 1pm until 7pm at Gosport Leisure Centre, off Forest Way.
