Job vacancy site finds city salaries on the rise

AVERAGE salaries in Portsmouth have risen by an impressive 8.5 per cent, higher than any other city in the UK, according to independent job board CV-Library.

The firm compared its data from March, 2017 with February, 2017.

It also found average salaries in Portsmouth jumped when looking at year-on-year data, rising by an impressive 11.5 per cent.

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: ‘Our data tells us that average salaries across the UK witnessed a slight dip in March, which is why it’s so promising to see that pay has risen substantially in Portsmouth.

‘Business confidence is clearly high, and this is resulting in an increased number of applications, which is positive news for companies looking to strengthen their workforce.’

Furthermore, when comparing year-on-year data, Portsmouth was the third top-performing city for jobs, as vacancies rose by an impressive 24.9 per cent.
