Gung-Ho! is a 5k inflatable obstacle course featuring 10 tricky obstacles, including the world’s biggest bouncy inflatable, Europe’s tallest blow-up slide and giant maze and ball-pit.

The Total Wipeout-style course, featuring the 200ft-long, five-storey high ‘thriller’ slide, will be held in Southampton this year but organisers plan to bring it to Portsmouth next year.

The event is the brainchild of CBeebies presenter Alex Winters, who said: ‘We are really excited about bringing Gung-Ho! to Hampshire for the first time.

‘We have already started thinking about where we’d like to go in 2017 and Portsmouth is top of the list.

‘We’d love to get back to the area again and Portsmouth is the perfect place.

‘It is a fantastic, vibrant city, full of energy – I’d love it to happen there.

‘I am sure the people of Pompey would all get behind us and turn out in their droves, too.’

Runners, who must be at least 4ft tall, receive a free bib with race number, Gung-Ho! T-shirt and headband, while any spectators can attend for free and enjoy the food stalls and music.

Early-bird tickets for the Southampton event are available for £30 until January 30 at begung-ho.co.uk.
