Portsmouth leader praises success of latest Cosham bonfire and fireworks spectacle

CITY leaders have praised the success of the Cosham bonfire and fireworks spectacle.

Portsmouth City Council says more than 10,000 people enjoyed the occasion at King George V playing fields this week. It has been a regular city even for more than 30 years.

Cllr Donna Jones, council leader, said: ‘The Cosham fireworks and bonfire is a hugely popular event, which many families look forward too.

‘As the fire service recommends, organised displays are the best way to enjoy the bonfire season.

‘We’re fortunate to have so many generous companies who help make sure this display and other smaller community events go ahead.’
