A spokesman for Cath Kidston said: ‘The notice of intention forms part of the process by which Cath Kidston is continuing to work with Alvarez and Marsal to explore all options for the company in the current climate.’

The firm has around 800 employees and 60 shops in the UK, with 200 shops around the world.

Known for colourful, floral designs, Cath Kidston was established in 1993.

Laura Ashley, Carluccio's and BrightHouse have all gone into administration in the past couple of weeks, putting the blame on the coronavirus outbreak.
