Robot helps at gas works
GAS distribution company SGN has been upgrading the gas supply network in Portsmouth using a robot.
The system – called CISBOT – has sealed the joints in the gas main along Milton Road. CISBOT can travel 170m in each direction from one excavation.
Project manager Rob Bungey said it ‘minimises disruption’ on the work that is taking place in April.
