6. Edinburgh
You can fly daily to historic Edinburgh from Southampton Airport with Loganair, Blue Islands and British Airways. Edinburgh Castle is a must, of course, even just for the views across the city from the ramparts. For a different viewpoint, head up Calton Hill. 7. Faro/Algarve
