The baguette shop, formerly known as La Croissanterie, in Osborne Road, has been closed since Christmas while it underwent a revamp and name change.

The family-run business, which opened in 1988, will reopen tomorrow at 10am with a visit from Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Frank Jonas.

The shop has been renamed Andre’s Food Bar, as the family’s eldest son Andre has officially taken over the business.

Andre Guedeney, 35, said: ‘I’m thrilled to be leading the business into 2016.’

The cafe, known as ‘the roll shop’ by many locals and students, is boasting a revived menu, with new additions such as jacket potatoes.

However, Andre said firm favourites such as the shop’s famous garlic chicken, tuna niçoise and seafood rolls will still be on the menu.

He said: ‘We’re tweaking our menu, but don’t fret – we’re not getting rid of anything.’
