Village loyalty card holders to win prizes

RESIDENTS will be rewarded for their business loyalty with the relaunch of a shopping scheme.

The Denmead Village Card, a scheme set up in 2015, was restarted on Saturday with bigger prizes and more incentives to shop locally.

It was put on hold last year while new businesses were recruited. The scheme is being organised by Winchester City Council’s market towns development officer Heidi Isa, in collaboration with Denmead Parish Council.

The minimum spend of £5 has been removed, and card holders can earn up to five stamps in one transaction – depending on the value.

From fish and chips to flowers, massages to mechanics, card holders can earn stamps at 11 local businesses.

Once 10 stamps have been achieved cards will need to be put into a prize draw box, which will be with a different participating business each month.

One card holder is then drawn to win a prize, which will always be worth at least £50. Find out more at denmeadvillagecard.com.
