Welborne developer to be grilled at public meeting

PEOPLE are invited to quiz the developers behind a 6,000-home estate at a meeting next week.

Buckland Development Ltd, which is looking to bring forward a planning application for the Welborne estate to the north of Fareham, is to hold its second information event in Ferneham Hall, Fareham from 1pm until 8pm on Wednesday.

Plans for the estate have stalled in the past year due to disputes between the landowners. Buckland informed nearby residents of its aim to submit a planning application for the site next year in July.

Mark Thistlethwayte, chairman of Buckland Development Limited said: ‘This further event forms part of our long-term commitment to bringing forward plans for Welborne.

‘We were very encouraged to receive a variety of
constructive feedback at our first event and look forward to providing more detailed information on key areas including transport, infrastructure, housing mix and community provision.

‘Detailed work has been continuing since July and we are now keen to present our latest proposals and updates before we submit our planning application to the council within the first quarter of 2017.’
