Citizens Advice money scheme gets an award for its workshops on loan sharks
Work Out Your Money has won a Highly Commended Award for its work in raising awareness on illegal money lending.
The lottery-funded project works on behalf of Citizens Advice Havant to help people with financial advice, which includes informing them about loan sharks and scams.

Hide AdGiven by the England Illegal Money Lending Team, the award is for ‘outstanding endeavours in raising awareness of the crime of illegal money lending’.
Fiona Ross, who manages the project in local schools, said: ‘We have been explaining the importance of borrowing safely in our fun and interactive financial capability workshops.
‘Our programmes are tailored to the needs of our community and guided by the insight given by Citizens Advice.
‘As a result, we are recognised as the go-to organisation for financial capability workshops.’

Hide AdFor nearly five years the programme has run as a way of informing the community after being set up by Citizens Advice CEO Jon Stuart in 2014.
