Havant family show support for cancer charity after mum's battle

Samantha Montgomery, 29, discovered a lump on her neck weeks after giving birth to her third child.

She was later diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma and after six months of treatment was given the good news the cancer had gone.

Determined to make the most of her life, Sam has since left her call centre job and gone to university to study to be a social worker.

Mrs Montgomery told her children she had a ‘poorly arm’ while she was going through treatment and they have since helped her raise money for Cancer Research by taking part in Britain’s Biggest Breakfast campaign.

Sam, of Froxfield Road, Havant, said: ‘It’s thanks to research and treatment that I’m still here today and I can look forward to a future full of special moments with my family.

‘I’m determined to encourage people to do everything they can to raise money to help more people survive through research.’

Emily Attwood, a spokeswoman for Cancer Research UK, said: ‘Every step we take towards beating cancer relies on every hour of research, every pound donated and every person who gets involved.’
