We have seen the new grading systems and exam criteria in place and so we are especially proud of those who rose to the challenge and have seen their hard work reap rewards.

Here are some of our key achievements:

Our highest-achieving subjects were Sciences, Statistics, Business Studies and Food Technology, closely followed by Maths, MFL and Computer Science.

In MFL over 35% of the cohort achieved grade 7 + (equal to the old A grade) and in Maths it was almost 20%.

Over 56% of our students achieved a grade 4+ in both English and Maths, which prepares them so well for their next stage of education.

We have seen significant improvement in Spanish, Art and in Triple Science with over 45% of the cohort sitting this award – which is a real strength of our school.

Many students achieved the top grades of 7-9 with 15% of all grades in this higher category. All of this reflects our continued push for excellence in all areas, for ALL of our students.

Our highest achiever was Emily Wells, who achieved 6 x Grade 9 and 4 x Grade 8. She was followed closely by Iris Joyce, Tess Robertson, Daniel Simms, Carmen Chan and Yasmin Smith.

A special mention must also go to the following who have made significant progress since they started with us at the Bourne, surpassing all progress targets and expectations: Rebecca Rudd, Luke Buncle, Emma Meads, Victoria Steel, Joshua Coates, Ellie Walmsley, Sandra Bennett, Finn Loveday, Harry Hall and Finn Carter.

It has certainly been a year of hard work and determination. Our congratulations go to all our departing students, who have successfully completed their time at the Bourne and have been a real credit to themselves as well as to the College. We are very sad to see them go as they have been an amazing year group, ably led by our Head Boy and Girl and Deputy Head Boy and Girl. We wish them well for a very successful future as they take up their hard-earned places at local colleges and in their new ventures next year.
