Management training scheme gets off the ground in Fareham

BUSINESS owners gathered at Fareham Innovation Centre as a new management scheme was launched.

Solent Leadership Academy - a joint venture between Fareham College and Fareport Training Organisation - aims to improve management skills in the Solent area through work-based training.

Local business owners were invited to the launch yesterday to hear the academy’s new management and leadership training plans.

Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport said: ‘The most valuable commodity in the modern world is an educated workforce. Although it’s important to equip our young people with basic skills, key management skills are equally as important.’

Claire Froggatt, director of the academy, said: ‘We’re open to supporting any local employer to help them out, it is all about getting higher level management skills in your workforce.’ – JACK BOULTON
