Nigerians visit university's start-up space
A DELEGATION of executives from universities and colleges in Nigeria visited a support service for student start-up businesses.
The group, in the UK on a five-day training programme organised by Portsbridge Educational services in collaboration with the School of Education and Continuing Studies, stopped at the University of Portsmouth’s start-up incubator.
They were welcomed by international officer Jenny Hyde and Dr Philip Ely, the university’s lead for entrepreneurship. Dr Ely gave an overview of the university’s approach to entrepreneurship and spoke about the start-up incubator – nest – which enables students to develop their ideas into business ventures through workshops, hot desks and collaborative working in the University’s Innovation Space.
Stella Adagiri, who organised the trip, said she hoped to improve enterprise education in Nigerian institutions.
