Showcase event to help business reduce their carbon footprint

Businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint are invited to attend a showcase event hosted by the Universities of Portsmouth and Winchester in partnership with the technology and innovation cluster Greentech South.

The Empowering Small Businesses: A Project Showcase for a Low-Carbon Future event takes place on Wednesday 10 May from 11.30am to 6pm at Portsmouth Football Club.

The event will showcase the success of the EMphasis3 and Low Carbon Solent projects, both funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), in helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop solutions to reduce carbon emissions.

At the event, guests will hear about the impact the programmes have had on businesses and the local environment. There will be opportunities to meet the programme team, SME members, academics, investors, business support organisations and local authorities.

Through a number of live panels, guests will hear success stories from those who have managed to reduce their operational carbon footprint, and successfully commercialise and launch their low carbon innovations to market. There will also be an opportunity to network with other attendees.

The keynote speaker is The Rt Hon Chris Skidmore MP, the former Minister of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
