Portsmouth nursery's joy as it clinches improved Ofsted report

Inspectors said Izzies Nursery, in Wymering Road, North End, Portsmouth, provided a ‘rich, stimulating environment’ for children.

Their report said there was ‘a strong partnership with parents and a clear vision from the leaders and manager’.

Children leave the nursery equipped with valuable skills for their future life and school, it added.

Izzies was previously rated as ‘requiring improvement’ only 10 months ago and the aim is now to move to an ‘outstanding’ rating.

Mother-of-two Lauren Banks said: ‘My children love coming here.

‘Everyone is so nice, caring and understanding’.

Nursery manager Jayne Pratt said: ‘I know parents are delighted with this report as it shows the level of quality we provide for their children.’

Director Lee Miller said: ‘We have a popular nursery which is constantly improving.

‘My congratulations to the entire Izzies team.’

The news comes after St Edmund’s Catholic 
School became the first secondary in Portsmouth in seven years to be rated as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted inspectors.

Praise was heaped on the school after a report revealed there was ‘outstanding leadership at every level’ and ‘no pupil is overlooked’.

It is said that teachers were ‘highly knowledgeable about how pupils learn and plan meticulously to carve out improvements’.
