Following a period of collaboration with local providers and stakeholders, the post-16 education provider has now set its sights higher with the launch of a new Strategic Plan.

The plan outlines how the Gosport college seeks to build and develop its curriculum offer to meet the education needs of young people and adults across the Gosport and Fareham community and showcases how the college aims to develop resources, facilities and partnerships, all of which will enhance the experience of students and staff.

A key part of the plan is the college’s investment in digital learning devices. From September 2020 all Level 3 students will be provided with a free iPad to support their studies, with college staff completing rigorous training to ensure that use of these innovative learning devices is at the heart of teaching and learning for the student body.

Staff have been learning about the wide array of apps and facilities available to them on iPads, which will not only enhance their teaching practice but also provide extended opportunities for students to learn from home and outside of the classroom.

Andy said: ‘Research and feedback from employers highlights that the ability to use such devices will be at the forefront of future business and industry needs.

‘The college is embracing the opportunities such resources can provide to enhance students' learning experience and we are very excited to see learners benefiting from the use of new technologies.'

The college will be showcasing these resources at the next Open Evening being held Wednesday May 6 from 5pm-7.30pm. The event will provide future students with the opportunity to discover more about the college, meet students and staff and find out about the exciting plans St Vincent has set in motion.
