Teenage girls carrying fake knives stopped at Fareham secondary school

The incident, understood to involve teenage girls, happened yesterday at Crofton School, in Marks Road, Stubbington.
One parent, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was distressed at the situation.

Hide AdShe said: ‘I am horrified, as far as I am concerned, knife crime is knife crime. It is not acceptable, even if they say the knife was blunt. I hope they are dealt with by the police.’
Headteacher Simon Harrison said the pupils were being reprimanded.
He said: ‘I can confirm two pupils brought fake knives into school yesterday.
‘When other pupils became aware of this they reported this to staff who were able to confiscate them immediately.

Hide Ad‘Although no pupils were put in any danger and the matter was dealt with swiftly and safely, we do take such incidents very seriously, not least because of the understandable concern this causes to pupils, staff and parents.
‘Police have been informed and we are dealing with the matter in line with our behaviour policy.’
A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We are of an incident yesterday (November 3) in which it’s reported that two pupils brought fake knives into Crofton School in Stubbington.
‘The school are dealing with the matter, and we will be liaising with them to explore what further proportionate action needs to be taken by police.’
