Teenager seriously hurt after falling 15ft from roof at Swanmore College

A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling 15ft from a school roof.

Emergency services – including the air ambulance – were called to Swanmore College, in New Road, Swanmore just after 2pm today.

A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We received a 999 call at 2.10pm with the caller reporting that a 14/15-year-old boy had fallen approximately 15ft from a roof at Swanmore College and sustained serious injuries.

‘We sent an ambulance and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the college, and following initial treatment and stabilisation at the scene, he was then taken by road to University Hospital Southampton.’

Headteacher Kyle Jonathan said: ‘My primary concern is for the lad who fell.

‘We wish him a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.’
