Matt Hancock announced on December 23 that most of Hampshire would put in the highest level of measures from Boxing Day, with only Isle of Wight and New Forest remaining in tier three.
But following a new review on December 30, those two areas will be moved into tier four on New Year’s Eve.

Hide AdBoris Johnson, the prime minister, announced the return to the tiered system in November, and restrictions came into force following the end of the second lockdown on December 2.
Under tier four restrictions non-essential retail, hairdressers and gyms will have to close.
Indoor mixing between households is banned and residents living in tier four should not travel abroad.
We have listed which tier all Hampshire areas are now in, following the latest review of the tier system on December 30.

Hide AdPortsmouth, Gosport and Havant were moved to tier four on December 20, and the rest of Hampshire aside from New Forest and Isle of Wight was moved up to tier four at 12.01am on Boxing Day. The remaining two areas will be in tier four from December 31.
