Rob Milner, 45, who manages the Cosham branch of the supermarket giant, hopes to complete the 183 metre circuit 351 times to raise money for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity. He will be joined by fellow Tesco’s employee, Darryl Marsh, as they look to raise at least £500 from the challenge.

Rob said: ‘I am classed as a key worker but I wanted to do something extra for those key workers in the NHS. They really are putting their lives in danger and saving people’s lives.’

Rob said: ‘My niece who works at the store will also be keeping count of the number of laps I have done. I am starting at 2pm and I hope to do it in six hours.’

It is the second running challenge Rob has taken on since lockdown after last month covering the distance of a marathon by running the 55 metres of the store’s warehouse corridor 767 times. Rob completed the 26 miles in 4 hours 12 minutes to raise £1026 for the NHS charity.

As well as collecting money in buckets on the day, people can donate to the cause by going to Rob and Darryl’s JustGiving page.
