Naomi House and Jacksplace celebrate after £95,000 funding boost

Naomi House & Jacksplace were told this week they would be getting the money from the Libor Grant, cash from banks which broke banking regulations.

The hospice, based in Winchester which cares for children and young people from across the south including Portsmouth and surrounding areas, will use the money to support 10 military families.

Mark Smith, chief executive at Naomi House & Jacksplace, added: ‘We are delighted with the news that we will receive this significant sum from the Libor Charity Funding scheme.

‘This money will help us to provide absolutely vital care and support to local military families on good days, difficult days and last days.’

The latest round of funding will bring to an end the Libor Charity Funding scheme, which has awarded £773m to charities since 2012.

Steve Brine, MP for Winchester and Parliamentary Under Secretary for Health, said: ‘It’s really great that something so positive continues to come out of the shame of Libor fines.

‘I’m delighted we’ve been able to commit such a large sum to Naomi House & Jacksplace to further support their excellent work with life-limited or life-threatened children and young people from armed forces families.’
