Obesity set to become main cause of cancer
A NEW campaign has been launched in the South East to raise awareness of the link between obesity and cancer.
The campaign coincides with the publication of a report which shows by 2043 obesity is set to overtake smoking as the biggest cause of cancer in women.
Studies show obesity in women has a greater impact on cancer rates than men.
In the South East, 56 per cent of women are obese whilst 12 per cent smoke. Cancer Research spokesperson, Jenny Makin, said: We're bringing the link between obesity and cancer to the public's attention to ensure they are aware of the facts.'
