Staff receive big praise in inspectors' report

A CARE home that '˜creates lots of smiles and laughters' has been applauded by inspectors in a new report.

Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission have rated Latham Lodge care home in Stakes Road, Purbrook as ‘good’ in all areas.

The care home’s staff were given strong praise in the report following the inspection on September 7.

The report, which was published last Wednesday, said: ‘We observed that staff were kind, caring and friendly in their approaches to people’s care.

‘There was a good rapport between staff and the people they supported with lots of smiles and laughter.’

‘A member of staff told us “it’s a lovely place to work. There’s never a day when I don’t want to come into work.”

‘A community care professional said: “Latham Lodge provides exceptional care from the foundations upwards. I have never witnessed any behaviours or practices that have raised concerns”.’

Sylvia Morse-Carter, the manager of the home said: ‘We strive to give our residents the care and lifestyle they wish to have and involve them in every aspect of their care. We are all extremely happy at the praise we received from inspectors in the report.

‘All of our team members, residents and families work well to support each other and it is very pleasing to see that our service has been rated as good by the CQC.’
