We delved into the archives for this great selection of pubs from the Landport and Portsea area.
The majority of them no longer exist sadly - but we think you’ll enjoy looking at the ones that once stood in the area, that perhaps a member of your family used to frequent in times gone by.
Station street 1973. It is December 1973 and we have four places to have a drink within fifty yards.To the left is the Criterion, then the Claremont Hotel. Crossing Station Street we have Judds Railway Hotel and then a restaurant, a fancy goods shop and another pub, the Lennox Arms.To the left of the Criterion is a tobacconist and then another pub, the Albany.The crane would be working on the beginnings of the new civic offices in Guildhall Square.The junction of Station Street and Commercial Road in December 1973.
