You could be perfect to become a foster carer or supported lodgings carer with Foster Portsmouth. From temporary respite support, to long-term placements, to supporting a young adult to independence, we need more people like you to help take care of Portsmouth's children.

Our foster carers come from all walks of life and regardless of their age, ethnicity or sexuality, they all share the same commitment and motivation to make a positive difference to a child’s life. Foster Portsmouth are hosting a 'Chat with a Carer' event on Tuesday, November 3, at 7pm, where you'll get the opportunity to talk directly to real carers about their experience and ask any questions you may have. Now from the comfort of your own home, the event will take place on Zoom and joining details will be shared once you've registered.

As the need for foster placements and supported lodgings placements continues, recruiting these types of carers remains crucial. COVID-19 has affected many households but for many it has provided an opportunity to reflect on what is important. Providing stable homes for young people is incredibly rewarding, and fostering with Portsmouth's local authority offers a wealth of benefits.
