Q: I have found a most amazing group of blue wild flowers, please can you tell me what they are. MB, Fareham.

A: These stunning wild flowers look as if they belong in an herbaceous border but you are right, they are wild flowers and the name is Echium vulgar.

Q: I think my neighbour has been trying to damage my Leylandii hedge, please can you give me your opinion. Anon

A: I have deliberately not included your details as I really do not wish to become involved. However, this advice will be useful to readers who have these hedges. Be caring. Is your hedge too high? Do you ever offer to cut the neighbour’s side? And what about reducing the height to head height so cutting is easier and quicker? I cut eight feet from the top of our hedge seven years ago. It is now seven feet high and my neighbours are very happy.

Q: We grew a lovely little walnut in a pot and it needs a large garden Can anyone help please? RHB, Cosham.

A: I will let you know if any of our readers would like this. Please wait for a couple of weeks.
