PPA event willbe a '˜must see'

It will be a free-to-attend unique opportunity to meet with property professionals in a relaxed environment and discuss all things property-related.

Those attending will have the chance to discuss Help to Buy initiatives with those administering the schemes, they will have the ability to discuss shared ownership withhousing associations staff and the chance to discuss housing matters with the council, all under one roof.

In addition, the legal process can be demystified with a chat to lawyers and the need for a survey established by talking with a surveyor.

Searches can be explained and estate agents can outline their role in the process.

With letting agents, mortgage brokers, insurance brokers and accountants in attendance and available to talk to, the event will not just appeal to first-time buyers but also experienced property owners and those with a buy-to-let portfolio.

There will be the chance to talk to the council about its licensing and HMO rules, the chance to talk with the Portsmouth and District Private Landlords’ Association and with letting agents.

With the event looming it was rewarding to speak with a retired estate agent earlier this week who said he would see me at the event as his daughter was thinking of purchasing a property later this year.

He thought it was an unrivalled opportunity for her to learn about the process she would be involved with.

Similarly I spoke with a client who owns and lets out many houses in Portsmouth and he intends to attend as he hopes to discuss council letting regulations with those administering them.

As can be seen there should be something to be gained by anyone in or shortly to be entering in to, the property market.

The Portsmouth Property Association has put together this event and hope s that people will take advantage of the opportunity and take what they can from the event and gain knowledge from the many property professionals in attendance.
