Tantalising tango hits the stage in Southsea

THE Argentine tango will be taking centre stage at a theatre in Southsea next week.

Dance-lovers in the city will be in for a treat when Tango Tales comes to the Kings Theatre, in Albert Road, on Friday, May 20.

The show is the 12th annual production by Escuela de Tango Argentino, an Argentine tango dance company,and is kicking-off the group’s south of England tour.

The spectacle aims to take the tango back to its Buenos Aires roots showing both the traditional origins and the stylish modern revival of the dance.

Tango Tales will feature an international group of amateur dancers led by Brazilian Tango teacher Flavio de Brito, with Corina Piatti on the vocal and guitar.

Flavio’s dance company has performed in some of the country’s biggest venues, including the West End, in 2009.

The action takes place from 7.30pm.
