BMX cyclist found dead on Hayling Island

Desperate attempts to resuscitate the man were carried out by a passerby who found him but they were not successful.

The 43-year-old, who was declared dead after being taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, was found by the member of public who called paramedics.

The man's next-of-kin have been informed.

He was found close to the track near Inn on the Beach and the Beachlands Car Park at Hayling Island just before midnight on Wednesday. He was found between 11.59pm on Wednesday and 12.30am on Thursday.
