Boy, four, freed by firefighters after his head gets trapped in a cone

A MOTHER has praised firefighters for rescuing her little boy after his head became trapped inside a metal cone.

The four-year-old had been wearing the cone as a hat when it became stuck on his head, yesterday morning.

Firefighters from Cosham – stationed for the day at Gosport – were called to Peel Common Infant School, in The Drive, where the lad is a pupil.

They used bolt croppers to slice through the metal.

Brett Baker, Cosham crew manager, said: ‘He was very happy after we’d got it off.

‘He was pretty brave and wasn’t upset. He was just a nice lad. He won’t be sticking that on his head again.’

Mum Amy Catherine Jull took to Twitter to praise the crew’s efforts. She said: ‘I would like to thank the three (firefighters) that came to school and cut my boy’s head out of what can only be described as a metal cone.’
