He assaulted Reginald Bosanquet in Knowle Village on January 7.

The district judge sentenced him to 20 weeks for that offence and four weeks consecutive for an offence of possession of cannabis on January 25.

He committed the assault with a weapon and was on post-sentence supervision. He also has a history of violence.

n Ryan Lewis, 20, of no fixed address, admitted driving while disqualified on the M27 at Portsmouth on December 28 last year.

He was handed a community order with 100 hours unpaid work to complete.

Lewis must also pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

He was banned from driving for three months.

He also admitted driving with no insurance on the same day but received no separate penalty.

n Daniel Mackel, 20, of Westland Drive, Lee-on-the-Solent, was found guilty of assault by beating in Havant on October 30.

He was handed a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

Mackel must pay £100 compensation to the victim, an £80 victim surcharge and £250 prosecution costs.

n Wayne Carter, 42, of Grassmere Way, Waterlooville, was found guilty of assault by beating in Park Gate between December 5 and 8 last year.

He was given a community order with 32 sessions of a building better relationships course.

He must complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £200 compensation.

A restraining order bans him from contacting the victim for a year.

Carter must pay a £60 victim surcharge and £620 prosecution costs.

n Lewis Chalmers, 27, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause the person to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used.

He was handed an eight-week prison sentence suspended for six months.

He committed the offence after being released from prison. Chalmers must complete six months supervision and 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

He must pay an £80 victim surcharge and was detained in court.

n Steven Bailey, 49, of Matapan Road, Hilsea, admitted drink-driving on February 12 in Matapan Road.

A test showed he had 75 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the 35mg legal limit.

Bailey was fined £400 and banned from driving for 20 months.

He must pay an £40 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
