Drink-driver more than double the limit fined £220

A MAN has been banned from driving for 18 months.

Andrew Thorn, 26, was caught drink-driving in South Street, Gosport, on July 24. He pleaded guilty to the charge.

He was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when he was stopped by police.

A test revealed he had 80 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the 35mg legal limit.

Fareham magistrates ordered him to pay a £220 fine.

Thorn, of Serpentine Road, Widley, must also pay a £30 victim surcharge an £85 prosecution costs.
