Drugs raid at Milton address as police dog sniffs out illicit substances

Officers sprang into action with police dog Livvy at an address in Gisors Road, Milton, on Wednesday morning.

They dealt with a resident via an out-of-court disposal after searching the address.

Posting on Facebook, officers said: ‘Portsmouth Central beat officers, assisted by Southsea beat officers executed a warrant at an address... this morning relating to the misuse of drugs.

‘Police dog Livvy was also requested to assist in our search. It's always such a privilege to see police dogs in action. Police dogs like Livvy provide such a vital role to the police in many situations.

‘So many factors have had an impact on policing and resourcing recently. However, it is a clear message that the misuse of drugs will not be tolerated in communities.

‘Warrants are a means of providing reassurance to our communities and ensuring that individuals are dealt with for criminal matters and those that may be vulnerable are signposted to supporting agencies.

‘A resident within the address was dealt with by means of an out of court disposal.’
