End of term reports details police commissioner work

THE crime commissioner has published a report detailing his achievements during his term of office.

Elections are due to be held for Hampshire’s police and crime commissioner in May. Simon Hayes, the incumbent, has said he has tackled rural crime, brought in a care service for victims, launched the Modern Slavery Partnership tackling the hidden crime, set up the Youth Commission and reduced reoffending.

He said: ‘This report is evidence that, against the backdrop of austerity cuts, I’ve been able to maintain an efficient and effective police service.’
