Fareham pensioner, 86, fined £1,000 for destroying protected tree

CITY magistrates told a man to pay £2,100 for destroying a protected tree.

Keith Brooks, 86, of Catisfield Road, Fareham, admitted damaging, topping or lopping the tree in Catisfield Road between June 2018 and April 2019.

He must pay £2,100.

Portsmouth magistrates fined him £1,000 with a £100 surcharge. He must pay £1,000 costs to the prosecutor, Fareham Borough Council.
