Five people arrested after man seen fleeing house in underwear

FIVE people were held on suspicion of false imprisonment after a man was seen fleeing a property in his pants.

Shocked onlookers watched as the victim, a 30-year-old man, was allegedly assaulted in St Mary’s Road, Fratton.

Police had previously said he suffered minor injuries.

But a witness, who did not want to be named, told The News: ‘There was a guy in his boxer shorts. All of a sudden there were 10-15 police cars.

‘He had run off down the street. There was one guy that was seemingly attacking him at that point. The police had rammed the door.’

It happened at 5.41pm on June 29 and arrests were:

n Two women, 35 and 38, from Portsmouth, on suspicion of false imprisonment and GBH with intent.

n A 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, from Portsmouth, on suspicion of false imprisonment and attempt to cause GBH.

n A 36-year-old man, from Portsmouth, on suspicion of false imprisonment, GBH with intent and assault ABH.
