Gosport baby death trial: Jurors to continue deliberations for a third day

JURORS hearing the trial of a mum and her ex-partner, both accused of causing the death of a three-week-old baby boy, are to go into a third day of deliberations.

The seven men and five women were unable to reach a unanimous decision this afternoon at Winchester Crown Court after they began considering their verdict on Friday.

Roxanne Davis, 31, of Lee Road, Gosport, and her former lover Samuel Davies, 24, of Mayfield Road, Southampton, are accused of allowing or causing the death of Stanley Davis.

The tiny tot died of a fatal skull fracture and brain haemorrhage aged just 24 days on March 28 last year.

He also sustained 32 fractures to his ribs and nine fractures to his arms and legs during three separate occasions '“ many of which were brutal refractures.

Davis and Davies deny the charge.

The deliberations will resume at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday).
