Magistrates fine drink-driver £290 for being twice the limit

DRINK-DRIVER Lisa Barton-Bates has been banned from driving for 23 months.

The 40-year-old, of Wallace Road, North End, Portsmouth, was caught in Wallace Road on July 9.

A test revealed she had 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the 35mcg limit.

Portsmouth magistrates fined her £290 for the offence. She must also pay a £29 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Her guilty plea was taken into account when she was sentenced.

Her disqualification will be reduced by 23 weeks if Barton-Bates completes a driving course.
