Magistrates fine man for assault
A MAN who admitted assaulting a police officer has been fined.
David Lawrence, 27, assaulted the officer in the execution of his duty on May 14 in Gosport.
Lawrence, of Brewers Lane, Gosport, was fined £500 with £250 compensation to pay.
He appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to pay a £50 victim surcharge and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service. His plea was taken into account when sentenced.
