Man to appear in court after police tweet reports he was ‘over four times’ the drink driving limit

A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a tweet from Hampshire Police reported he was ‘over four times’ the limit.

The tweet released this morning thanked other motorists for alerting the police to a potential problem.

It said: ‘Huge thanks to callers on the M27/ M3 yesterday at 6.40pm. Delivery driver in a van was arrested by Roads Policing Unit Proactive for drink driving. Over four times the limit - shocking ! Your help makes a real difference to keep the roads safer.’

A subsequent statement from Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the arrest.

It stated: ‘Officers stopped a Mercedes Sprinter van on the M3 around 6.30pm on Monday, December 7. Miroslav Jacko, 30, Oxford Road, Reading, has been charged with driving a vehicle when alcohol level above limit.’

Jacko will appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court on February 4, next year.
