Man had drug while on trial

A MAN convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply has been remanded into custody.

Zak Bentaher, 21, of Kirby Road, Portsmouth, was on trial at Portsmouth Crown Court.

Jurors found him guilty of possession of cannabis, a 
class B drug, with intent to supply.

He was also found guilty 
of possessing criminal property.

Addressing the defence barrister, Judge Robert Hill said: ‘What the jury won’t know is he’s subject to two suspended sentences for drug-related offences that he’s going to be in breach of.

‘He was found to be driving around Wandsworth in possession of cannabis on one of the nights of this trial.’

Bentaher is due to be sentenced on February 12.
