Man rushed to hospital after being hurled down stairs and assaulted in Gosport

POLICE are appealing for help after a man was thrown down some stairs and assaulted.

The incident took place at about midnight, on Friday, inside a block of flats in Wilmott Lane, Gosport.

Police say the 30-year-old victim was thrown down some concrete stairs and then assaulted again while he was laying injured on the ground.

The man was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, and treated for injuries to his head, shoulders, arms and hands.

Police are now looking to trace a man described as, white, aged between 19 and 20, 6ft tall, skinny, with short dark blonde hair and a side parting.

He was also wearing a white t-shirt and dark-coloured tracksuit bottoms with trainers.

Detective Constable Sharon Lewry from the Eastern Investigations Team said: ‘We believe this to be an isolated incident, however we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around this time who saw or heard anything to contact us and assist us with this investigation.‘
