Man stabbed in leg outside Debenhams in Portsmouth city centre

A MAN was stabbed in the leg in Portsmouth city centre on Saturday after an altercation with two men.

Police are investigating

A 21-year-old male was attacked while standing near Debenhams in Commercial Road just before 12.30am.

No one has been arrested following the incident in the early hours of Saturday.

Police believe the victim had been stood outside of the Park Tavern in Edinburgh Road when he got into a dispute with two men who got out of a taxi on the other side of the road.

After being stabbed the individual reported to paramedics who treated him at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘The man presented himself to ambulance staff in Edinburgh Road. He said he’d been stabbed in the leg when he was near Debenhams.

‘We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the Commercial Road / Edinburgh Road area around the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious.’
