Mother charged with murder of newborn baby girl in West Sussex

A MOTHER has been charged with the murder of her newborn baby at a home in West Sussex.

An ambulance was called to an address in Aldwick Road, Bognor Regis, at 8.37am on Wednesday.

A baby girl was confirmed dead at the scene and Sussex Police say her mother was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester, for urgent medical treatment.

Gintare Suminaite, 29, of Aldwick Road, Bognor, was arrested and subsequently charged on suspicion of murder when she was released from hospital.

She will appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.
