No link between Isle of Wight death and Mutiny Festival MDMA, say police
DETECTIVES probing the apparent ecstasy death of a teenager said there is no link between the drug and two other deaths.
Harley Girven, 19, died on the Isle of Wight on June 29 sparking a Hampshire police warning about ‘punisher’ pills.
But a police spokesman said they are not linking this to the deaths of carer Georgia Jones, 18, and dad-of-one Tommy Cowan, 20, who died at Mutiny Festival in 2018 in Portsmouth after each taking ‘two pills’. A warning about blue punisher MDMA was issued at another festival shortly afterwards.
A spokesman said: ‘At present there is no identified link so the investigation team are not pursuing that as a line of enquiry, unless any information comes to light to the contrary.
