Pair convicted of roles in Portsmouth gunpoint robbery
TWO men have been found guilty for their part in a robbery in which a 12-year-old boy had a gun pointed at him.
Ryan Orme and Draid Nurse were sitting in a taxi outside Sultan Road, Buckland, Portsmouth, when four other men burst into a house.
Maria Dine’s son, 12, and daughter, four, were in the house and one of the robbers pointed a revolver at the boy.
Jurors at Portsmouth Crown Court yesterday found Orme, 18, and Nurse, 21, guilty of conspiracy to rob Jay Page, who lived at the address.
Faz’Ain Hussain, 23, of HMP Onley, Abner Emedeme, 22, of High Street, Colliers Wood, London, and Richard Bailey, 27, from London, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob at earlier hearings.
Nurse, of Cairo Terrace, Buckland, had claimed he was getting drugs with the men and did not know about the robbery and Orme, then of Copnor Road, Hilsea, claimed he was forced to be involved. A sixth man is still at large.
Judge Sarah Munro QC remanded the men in custody.
Sentencing of all five men is yet to be fixed.
